My name is Dr. Jessica! Growing up, I always knew two things: I loved medicine and working with children. After my mom immigrated as a dentist from Syria, I was inspired to pursue a career in dentistry. Being the oldest of four, I opted to stay in my home state of New Jersey to double major in Biology and French Literature at Rutgers University.
A Northeasterner at heart, I always wanted my 20s to be lived out in its biggest cities. I attended Harvard School of Dental Medicine, and Boston quickly became my favorite city despite its terrible snowstorms! After completing my general practice residency at Bronx-Lebanon, I worked for a private pediatric dental practice for a year in Philadelphia where I treated what felt like thousands of kids in the office, and treated adults with special needs in the operating room. It soon became the city that kickstarted my future career in Pediatrics.
One year later, I returned to the city that feels like home, New York, and worked in a location that enabled me to use my French and Arabic skills on a daily basis ( ...while also giving my best shot at speaking Spanish!) My rigorous two year pediatric dental residency training at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City was truly humbling, and the experience was one for the books. When I am not spending time getting to know all the kiddos on my schedule, I love to travel around the world, work out, eat lots of Thai and Mexican food, and spend time with my loved ones!
